Katharine Hepburn’s Brownie Recipe, just like the lady herself, is classically fabulous. This brownie recipe will become your new go-to.
Before we get to her chocolate, nut-filled brownies, can we just take a moment to admire the woman? I adore her. There wasn’t another woman who could pull off trousers or that sassy attitude like she could.
And what a mouth she had. These are my favorite saying of hers:
“If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased.”
“Life is hard. After all, it kills you.”
“If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married.”
The wit! The feminist insight! What a broad.
Also, if I’m being completely honest, my boyfriend and I often walk around imitating her fabulous accent. “Get in the CAUR, Max!” It’s highly entertaining and gets plenty of odds looks. A win-win.
But more importantly, onto Katherine Hepburn’s Brownie Recipe. It’s very simple. You all know how to make brownies, but there is just something special about the fact that this is Katherine Hepburn’s Brownie Recipe. Isn’t that a great talking point?
When you’re chatting with your mother-in-law you can casually drop, “Oh, yes. They’re Katharine Hepburn’s very own recipe!” I love that.
I also love that she used walnuts in them. I’m a ride and die chocolate AND nuts kind of lady. Do not argue with me on this one. If you happen to be allergic to nuts, however, simply exclude them. I also highly recommend substituting the walnuts for pecans if you’re feeling adventurous. That’s the Texan in me….always go for pecans over any other nut.
And without any further ado, I present to you Katharine Hepburn’s Brownie Recipe. Enjoy! I hear iconic brownie recipes don’t have any calories.
